History of German Shepherd dog

As his name shows, the origin of German Shepherd dog is in Germany, where he was making within the nineteenth century primarily by Captain Max von Stephanitz, who wanted to develop a dog that would be used for military, and police investigation. The result was a dog that encompassed striking attractiveness, intelligence, and flexibility.


During the war I, the breed was selected as a war sentry by various countries. At an equivalent time, the American Kennel Club (AKC) chose to change the name of the breed from German Sheepdog to sheepdog.

In 1931, the AKC return the dog back to its original name: the German Shepherd Dog. Since then, popular German Shepherds are on the silver screen, including movie stars Rin Tin Tin and powerful heart.
